Hey guys! It's a new year and I'm already behind on things I've made. So let's play catch up. I am in a swap with the flickr group
Hoop Up! We are sending pieces of fabric to our partners and have a few months to stitch things for them based on their theme. I decided on a Tim Burton theme because---well----he's awesome. So as inspiration for my group I stitched the Pin Cushion Queen from
this book by Burton, Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories. I love this little book of stories. The characters are great.

I had planned on doing the entire piece in black but then thought it might be nice to do little bits of it in color. I'm glad I did because I love the way it turned out. Tons of french knots.

I can't wait to see what my group stitches for me. I think my theme will inspire some great work.
What else has been going on:
*Colby and I have set our wedding date for October 2010. We booked our venue and photographer so we're well on our way.
*Saw "The Road" and don't think I've been so depressed after watching a movie since Pan's Labyrinth
*It's been COLD here in North Carolina! I don't really like 15 degree mornings. Come on spring!
