Vintage Reindeer finish!

I'm sorry to gave been absent for so long dear friends!  I was not happy having to use only my phone to do blog posts because I just couldn't get decent photos.  We finally got another laptop so I'm able to play catch up with all I've been doing!  Yay!  So I'm going to start with a really fun piece I finished a while back for a Gloria and Pat SAL in the Cross Stitch, It's Fun facebook group. I wanted to take part in a few SALs throughout the year so I dug through my stash to see what I may want to work on and I came across a booklet that I picked up at a thrift store and noticed that it was a Gloria and Pat booklet called "Christmas Counts". This wonderful vintage reindeer really caught my eye so I stitched him up!

Do you love him???  I adore his swirly antlers!  I stitched him using most of the recommended DMC floss, but substituted a couple to ones I had on hand since I didn't want to have to buy anything for this piece.  I also used some 14 count willow green aida I had in my stash. I like how it turned out using the green fabric.

Stitching this really makes me want to stitch more vintage designs.  This booklet is from 1977 and is just awesome.  There are a few more designs in the booklet I'd love to do.

He has a little gold for this bells.

I just adore his little face.  I'm not quite sure how I want to finish this off, but hopefully I will think of something before Christmas.  So that's it for today.  Stay tuned for more finished and some WIP updates!

Liberty Sampler: finished

I have another finish to share today!  I'm really pleased with the amount of stitching I've been able to do this year so far. This is another one of my Cross Stitch Crazy Challenge pieces...Liberty Sampler by Lizzie Kate.

This was a quick stitch once I got going.  I love all the little motifs especially the fireworks and the sunflower.  The pattern also came with the three charms which are a nice addition to the piece. This was a pattern I got a thrift store of all places!  I paid $1 for it, definitely worth the price.

I stitched this on some scrap oatmeal 14 count aida. I'm excited to have something to display for the 4th of July this year.  I've never really decorated for the holiday so this will get me going.

Until next time...Happy Stitching!

Autumn Delights: finished

OK so I wrote this post months ago and just now getting photos uploaded so I can share it.  We have a laptop now so no more yucky phone photos!  yay!  So here goes.

I'm on a roll!  With all the snow and ice we've had over the past couple of weeks, I was able to stitch more than usual so I have another finish to share with you today.  This is Autumn Delights by Barbara Ana.  I stitched this from the November 2013 issue of Cross Stitch and Needlework but you can order it here as well.

I absolutely adore this design.  It was a super fun stitch and stitched up pretty quickly once I got in the groove.  I love the warm colors and all the little critters!  How cute!

This is stitched on 14 count oatmeal aida using DMC floss. I did have to change a few of the colors because some just weren't showing up well on the fabric.  I tried to stay within the same color tones and I'm pleased with what I chose.

I really want to stitch her other seasonal tress as well, especially the Halloween Tree and O Christmas Tree.  They are all great.

Until next time...Happy Stitching!
