What's in my Hoop?

I thought I'd post another update on things I'm working on.  If you're like me, you have several WIP's going on at once.  So here's what I've got.

This cross stitch pattern by Little Miss Shabby based on quilt patterns.  This is a stitch-a-long and she releases a new block every two weeks.  It's been fun to stitch and she's kept it very free just giving you the basic pattern, leaving it very open to interpretation with the colors you choose.  You can really take it in so many directions.

I'm also still trudging away on Gingerbread Lane by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery.  I feel like I've been working on this forever! I took this piece to work and I stitch it on my lunch break, which is only 30 minutes.  So, little by little this has been coming together.  I still have a looooong way to go but at least I'm working on it and I'm really enjoying the stitch break at work.  It's been good for me.  (sorry for the not so great photo, this is from my phone which doesn't take the best pics).

I've also got a few ideas churning for Baxter's second birthday party!  Can you believe he's almost 2!!

So what's in your hoop!

"You have no power over me!" Finished: Labyrinth cross stitch

Hi friends!  Long time no see!  I am off work today for Memorial Day and have a few extra minutes to actually sit and blog a bit!  WOW!  So I'm popping in to show you this completed cross stitch that I've been working on here and there...a Labyrinth cross stitch.

I love this movie and all the great characters. This Wee Little Stitches pattern has all of them. David Bowie is so fantastic and the puppetry is great.  It's a wonderful fantasy--they just don't make movies like this anymore. You may remember from a previous post that I'm trying very hard to work through my stash and work with materials I already have on hand. I purchased this pattern over a year ago and finally getting around to stitching it up.  The fabric is 14-count aida in oatmeal that I had on hand as well.  When finished stitching everything, the lighter colors were blending in with the fabric so I decided to do a little backstitching around some of those areas.  I'm glad I did because you can see it so much better...especially Ambrosius the dog.

Ambrosius and Sir Didymus
Sarah, Toby and Jareth, the Goblin King
The Babe with the Power in his cute striped pajamas
Hoggle and Ludo
Fun comparison of Jareth.  They even did his eye make-up!
So another completed piece in the books. I have a couple more weelittlestitches patterns that I'd like to do.  I'm stitching when I can.  I even joined in on a Craftster swap!  I haven't done one of those in years, so I'm very excited about it!

P.S. I think the pattern would be even better with the little worm.  ; )  Maybe I should buy this pattern.
