Cross Stitch Crazy Challenge: January Update

Today I'm going to share some progress on my projects for the Cross Stitch Crazy Challenge.  I pretty much been focusing on a few pieces in January, only really working on three project for the challenge. But one is a finish so that was exciting.  So here's what's in my hoop!

"Autumn Delights" by Barbara Ana.  I worked little more on this piece because I absolutely love the pattern.  Actually I love pretty much all of Barbara Ana's patterns!  There is a nice little group on Facebook called Stitcher's Society for Barbara Ana Designs if you like stitching her designs and want to chat with other fans.  I'm also doing a little stitch-a-long with a friend through Instagram with this pattern so that's always fun!

I've also made good progress with "Early Witches" by The Primitive Hare.  I really want this to be my next finish.  I had to completely restart this piece so I want to et it behind me.  I still love the design, especially now that I'm finally stitching the witches!

And of course my finish!  I  blogged about this piece already but sharing again as I do updates for the challenge.  This is "12 Days of Christmas" by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery.

So for February, I will focus on "Autumn Delights" and "Early Witches", primarily working on "Early Witches" so I can get it finished. I'm thinking another couple of weeks will get it finished. Fingers crossed!!  Then I will most likely just pick things at random to work on.  I'll be back at the end of February for another challenge update!  I think I will have to restart a couple of my patterns as well.  I've had a idea for the Dr. Who piece so I will need a larger piece of fabric to do what I want to do, but I'm going to think about it a bit more.  Also, I'm pretty sure the fabric I have for Sleepy Hollow is going to be too small so I will need to order a larger piece for that.  I have all year right?

'Til next time!

What's In My Hoop!

Here’s some progress shots on things I’ve been working lately.  I’ve actually been making tons of things but can’t show a lot of them because they are for a Halloween swap!  But here’s some stitchy things I can show.

I finally jumped into Halloween Town by The Frosted pumpkin Stitchery.  This year’s design is so adorabe!  I can’t get over the cuteness!  I've finished the first two parts, only two more to go!

I’m also still stitching away on Gingerbread Lane by The Frosted Pumpking Stitchery.  I keep this one at work and work on it on my lunch breaks.  So it’s coming together thirty minutes at a time.  I’m pretty much finished with the second house so will only have one more house to do and the countdown numbers along the bottom.

I’ve also went a little loony for Halloween stitch-a-longs buying “Whacky Witches” by Cloud Factory, “Early Witches” by The Primitive Hare and "Something Wicked" by Samsarah Designs Studio.  Is there a support group for stitch-a-longs!?  I don’t know when I’ll be able to start them, but I can’t wait!

What's in my Hoop?

I thought I'd post another update on things I'm working on.  If you're like me, you have several WIP's going on at once.  So here's what I've got.

This cross stitch pattern by Little Miss Shabby based on quilt patterns.  This is a stitch-a-long and she releases a new block every two weeks.  It's been fun to stitch and she's kept it very free just giving you the basic pattern, leaving it very open to interpretation with the colors you choose.  You can really take it in so many directions.

I'm also still trudging away on Gingerbread Lane by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery.  I feel like I've been working on this forever! I took this piece to work and I stitch it on my lunch break, which is only 30 minutes.  So, little by little this has been coming together.  I still have a looooong way to go but at least I'm working on it and I'm really enjoying the stitch break at work.  It's been good for me.  (sorry for the not so great photo, this is from my phone which doesn't take the best pics).

I've also got a few ideas churning for Baxter's second birthday party!  Can you believe he's almost 2!!

So what's in your hoop!

What's In My Hoop?

I thought I'd share what I'm stitching now.  This totally awesome Halloween Spooky Sampler from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery.  I am in love with these patterns so far!  They released a row every week for three weeks and of course I'm terribly behind and may not finish in time for Halloween this year, but oh well. It's been fun to work on and my first time trying linen!  I don't know why I waited so long to try it because it's wonderful to work with!  Here's my progress.
